06 Kagura Monzen Touji Mura(Spa Village)
Kagura Monzen Touji Mura is a popular Kagura themed tourist spot located in Midori-cho, Akitakada City. The town of Mitosato has been home to the traditional art of Kagura since ancient times, and there are still 13 Kagura troupes active there today. In the vast grounds of Kagura Monzen Touji Mura, there are natural hot springs, lodging facilities, and a hall dedicated to the performance of Kagura, all lined up in a row. This creates an amazing atmosphere that will make you feel like you’ve gone to back in time to a traditional Japanese period. In addition to viewing kagura, visitors can also enjoy activities such as experiencing kagura.

Day 2
01 Hiroshima Miyoshi Winery
Hiroshima Miyoshi Winery is located in Miyoshi City and is one of the leading wineries in Hiroshima. The winery has won awards in various domestic and international wine competitions, and is a popular and talented winery. The winery has many facilities where you can learn more about Miyoshi and its wines, such as the factory where the wine is made, the wine cellar, the farm where the grapes are grown, the wine museum where you can taste and buy the products, and the restaurant.

02 OkudaGenso Sayume Art Museum
The Okudagenso Sayume Museum is located in the center of Miyoshi City. Opened in 2005, the museum is named after the couple, Japanese-style painter Okuda Genso and Japanese doll artist Okuda Oyume, who both received awards for their contributions to Culture. The museum has a permanent display of Japanese paintings by Okuda Genso and dolls by Oyume. It also frequently holds special exhibitions such as the Sylvanian Families Exhibition. The museum also has a tea ceremony room, where visitors can enjoy a tea ceremony experience on weekends and holidays (for an additional fee).

03 Restaurant Yoshoku Kobo
Restaurant Yosoku Kobo is a museum restaurant attached to the “Okudagenso Sayume Museum”. The large windows offer a view of the museum’s beautiful garden, which changes its appearance with the seasons. The menu at the restaurant consists of casual course meals and French cuisine such as beef stew, and most of the dishes are made with fresh ingredients from Miyoshi. Limited edition menus are also offered according to the seasons, so you can enjoy new dishes whenever you visit.

04 Taishaku Gorge
Teishakukyo is a canyon that straddles Shobara City and Jinsekikogen Town from north to south. The gorge is about 18 kilometers long and is divided into several areas, including the Kami-Teishaku area and the Shinryu-ko area. In addition to strolling through the canyon while taking in the natural beauty of Teishakyo, there are many activities to enjoy nature, such as cruising on a sightseeing boat or kayaking, making it one of the most popular spots for tourists from Japan and abroad.

02 Tomonoura
Tomonoura is a port town located along the coast of Fukuyama City. The city is also home to the Tomonoura Museum, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Japan. Tomonoura is often used as a stage for movies and anime, and has appeared in such masterpieces as “Wolverine: SAMURAI” and Ghibli’s “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea.

03 Ichibankan
Ichibankan” is a ramen restaurant located about a 10-minute walk from Onomichi Station. The ramen served in Onomichi is called “Onomichi Ramen,” and is characterized by a light chicken-based soup with a rich flavor and a lot of back oil. Ichibankan is one of the most popular Onomichi ramen restaurants, offering ramen with plenty of green onions and a clear, special soup.

04 Onomichi IHATOV・Maneki Neko Museum in Onomichi
The Onomichi IHATOV is a museum of maneki neko (beckoning cats) built in a vacant house in Onomichi. A beckoning cat is an ornament of a cat that originated in Japan and is posed to invite people in with its paws. They have been placed in stores and other places in Japan since ancient times to promote business prosperity and ward off evil. In the Onomichi IHATOV, visitors can experience Japan’s proud culture of maneki neko by viewing the thousands of maneki neko in the collection of Mr. Shunji Sonoyama, a painter of good fortune.

05 Senkoji Temple
Senkoji Temple is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Onomichi. The temple is located halfway up Mt. Taiho and is said to have been built about 1,200 years ago. The vermilion-lacquered main hall, also known as the “red hall,” is said to be unique in its beauty and has been preserved in many postcards and photographs since ancient times. The Senkoji ropeway, which departs from the foot of the mountain, is a convenient way to get to Senkoji. It takes about three minutes to reach the mountainside where Senkoji Temple is located.

06 Mihara Castle Ruins
The Mihara Castle Ruins are the ruins of the great Mihara Castle that once existed in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Although only a part of the castle still exists, such as the castle tower (the stone foundation of the castle tower), the moat surrounding the castle, and the Funairi Tower, it is known as a popular tourist spot visited by most of the tourists who come to Mihara City for sightseeing due to its convenience of being just a short walk from JR Mihara Station. This is one of the few places in Japan where you can see part of the castle ruins from the platform of JR Mihara Station, or even from the JR train.
